MEA Juniper Remodel

Set on the 2600 acre Rising Circle Ranch in Lamy NM, the Modern Elder Academy is comprised of an entry gate, 2 miles of new road, two new retreat sites totaling more than 40,000 square feet of new construction and renovation of an existing 10,000 square foot hacienda-style double adobe residence and substantial infrastructure development. As part of a this much larger retreat development, this residence overlooking a tranquil koi pond was thoughtfully reimagined after remaining largely unchanged since the 1990s. The renovation focused on updating the interiors to the fire safety and ADA standards of a hotel accommodation while preserving the old world feel of the original hacienda-style home. The result is an elegant retreat featuring 6 private guestrooms, a gathering room, and a steam room, each space reflecting the understated luxury for which the retreat has come to be known. The home's 3-car double adobe garage was converted to yoga room with hardwood floors, reception office, and accessible powder room.
