Set on the 2600 acre Rising Circle Ranch in Lamy NM, the Modern Elder Academy (MEA) project is comprised of a large masonry entry gate and 2 miles of new road leading to 2 new luxury retreat sites encompassing approximately 40,000 square feet of new construction and 10,000 square feet of renovation. Juniper, the first site, is a compound composed of one new and two existing structures overlooking a large pond. The new 2-story accommodation includes 15-guestrooms, a living/dining room, commercial kitchen, and sitting room. The adjacent buildings, an existing hacienda-style double adobe residence and 3-car garage, were transformed into a code compliant 6-guestroom accommodation complete with a retrofitted fire suppression system, steam room, gathering room/library, living room and movement room all anchored by connecting patios and courtyards. Cottonwood, the second site, is connected to Juniper by a new road and a regraded equestrian trail that traces the Galisteo River arroyo. This 2-story accommodation is comprised of 19 guestrooms, a living/dining room, steam room, gathering room, movement room and two distinct courtyards. Each site is supplied with a new domestic water, advanced wastewater, roof top solar, and fire suppression system. Landscaping at both sites includes extensive draught tolerant plantings, intensive reseeding, irrigation, custom stone planters, firepits and pizza ovens all connected via accessible pathways.
