SITE Santa Fe

"Winner of the prestigious 2018 Harnar Award for Contemporary Architecture" - This extraordinary project involved a renovation and expansion of the original beer warehouse creating a space that reinvents the institution and brings a distinctive building with an exuberant facade to Santa Fe's landscape. The new building allows SITE Santa Fe to increase its capacity to engage the community and beyond with dramatic new spaces for art, programming, and gathering. SHoP Architects created a design for SITE that provides elegant new spaces within the building and an iconic new form on the exterior of the building. Their design is distinguished by a perforated metal cladding that unifies SITE's original building with new additions in both the front and the back. In addition, there is an Education Lab for students and community gathering, a 200 seat Auditorium with state-of-the-art acoustics for public programming and special events and an expanded Lobby with a new store and snack and coffee bar. Not least, there is a Sky Terrace with extraordinary views of Santa Fe skies.
